I am broadly interested in the epistemology and aesthetics of (post)modernity and its implication on colonialism/de-colonialism, and non-disciplinary research and practice approach. Current research project includes african smart urbanism, indian ocean fashion system, construction of orientalism, and a revisiting of afro-asian writers’ conferences (1958-1979). I have received training in architecture, urbanism, geography, media studies, curatorial practices, and African studies from the University of Colorado Boulder, the National University of Singapore, and Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning & Preservation.
